Letter to the Editor re Henry Kingsmill
Letter to the Editor re Henry Kingsmill
To the Editor of the Sydney Gazette, SIR, In last Monday\'s Heral
d I observe Henry Kingsmill,\" in his own pure original brogue and styl
e, makes refe- rence to the summoning of Mr. Tooth as a juror, for non
-attendance, to which he was fined in the heavy penalty of £20, and do
ubtless with a view to shake the credibility justly due to that gentle
man\'s statement, and other members of his respectable family, the writ
er egotistically talks of his own character, which he says is \" too we
ll known,\" &c. He also affirms having emigrated to this Colony about s
even years ago. I respectfully, demand the ship, master\'s name, &c. b
y which he arrived, in order to see the newspaper announcement of thi
s fact, if it be one. Mr. T. perhaps does \" bite against a file,\", an
d a corrupt, and a rusty one too. I am, Sir, Your\'s obediently. A T
RUE EMIGRANT Sydney, Oct. 9, 1835.
