  Daniel Cotterill, together with his wife and family, and brother Willi am, his wife and young son, arrived in Australia aboard the "Earl Grey " on 15 Oct 1851. His occupation was given as Brickmaker, religion a s Wesleyan. He could read and write and was stated to be in good healt h. He and brother William had an uncle, James Betteridge, a labourer , living at East Maitland.
