• Notes

  Harry emigrated to New Zealand and thence to Tasmania in about 1907, w here in 1917 he enlisted in the Light Horse in the first Australian In fantry Force (AIF), No. 23028. He was embarked for Europe on SS Port D arwin from Sydney on 14 September 1918 as a Sapper in the 1st Australi an Wireless Squadron. At that time his occupation was given as Clerk , of Parramatta St, Auburn. He returned to Australia on 22 March 1919. After the First World War he worked as an accountant for Farmer & Co. , then for many years as Paymaster for the Department of Main Roads. He died of a heart attack whilst playing lawn bowls at Lane Cove Bowli g Club.
