  The following obituary was printed in the SMH 9th Feb 1931: OBITU ARY. MRS. C. J. PRESCOTT. Mrs. Prescott, wife of the Rev. Dr . C. J. Prescott, principal of Newington College, died yesterday morni g. With her husband she came to Australia in 1882 on account of her d elicate health, a short life having been predicted for her in England . The trip was made in the P. and O. liner Peshawur. For fourtee years Mrs. Prescott was in charge of the domestic arrangements at Bu wood Ladies' College, and subsequently for many years she discharge d similar duties at Newington. Throughout the State are numerous men a d women who treasure the memory of much kindness and sympathy shown t o them by her in their schooldays. Mrs. Prescott was keenly Intereste d in many forms of church work. She was a fine musician, possessed a d elicate and skilful touch both for the organ and the piano. She leave s two sons - Mr. W. A. Prescott, of the Australian Westinghouse Electr ic Company, and Mr. C. G. Prescott, solicitor, of Young - and two daug hters - Miss Prescott, who in later years took over her mother's dutie s at Newington, and Miss Kathleen Prescott, B.A. A service will b e held In the college chapel at 2 o'clock this afternoon, after whic h the funeral will leave for the Methodist section of the old portio of Rookwood Cemetery.
